- Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000

HOW YOU WILL CHANGE LIVES
As the Senior Benefits Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering a world-class employee benefits experience. You'll ensure team members understand their benefits, navigate leave programs with confidence, and receive empathetic, timely, accurate support. You'll also help strengthen benefits compliance, build better communication processes, and partner with leaders across HR and Operations.
Your work will:
Improve how employees access and understand their health benefits, 401(k), and leave programs
Enhance VASA's Total Rewards strategy and benefits communication
Support a major HRIS implementation that modernizes how we administer benefits
Serve as a resource for FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation
Build trust and connection across field operations, corporate teams, and external partners
This role will play a key part in maturing our Total Rewards function..
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Strategic Benefits & Communication
- Support and enhance VASA's total rewards strategy.
- Lead benefits communication, employee education, and compliance notices.
- Partner with training teams to deliver clear benefit resources and onboarding materials.
- Explain benefits programs, eligibility, and enrollment to employees and leaders.
- Support Open Enrollment strategy, communication, system setup, and compliance.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex benefits administration questions.
HRIS & System Implementation
- Support configuration and setup of benefits programs in a new HRIS/ATS system.
- Manage carrier feeds, eligibility audits, and system workflows that improve accuracy.
Benefits Administration
- Administer medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and savings plans.
- Oversee billing, carrier reconciliations, and payroll deduction accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and ACA / PPACA requirements.
- Manage broker communications and help shape policy updates.
ADA, Leave Administration & Injury Support
- Manage all FMLA leave, non-FMLA leave, and ADA accommodation processes.
- Educate employees and leaders on leave policies, eligibility, and return-to-work plans.
- Partner with HR field teams and PCPs on ADA and injury-related conversations.
- Maintain compliance and confidentiality across all leave programs.
Workers' Compensation
- Ensure accurate administration of workers' compensation claims.
- Maintain communication with carriers, employees, and club leaders.
- Support safety audits and manage premium audits and reporting.

Requirements
- 4–5+ years in benefits administration, leave of absence administration, or Total Rewards
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/certifications
- Strong proficiency in HRIS systems, benefits platforms, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to translate complex benefit concepts into simple, approachable language
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
- A process-driven mindset with strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and related regulations
- Curiosity, critical thinking, and desire to grow your HR and Total Rewards expertise
- Hybrid schedule - 3 days in office every week
